I was able to attend the HAA-THX level 1 training at CEDIA 2017 and I'm glad I did. It was an informative and reinforcing training. Many "standard" home theater concepts are expanded upon and myths are debunked. Factual, repeatable techniques are discussed and real world applications are kept in mind. I look forward to taking the level II and III classes when I can, Gerry is a great instructor.

I went through THX Level I training at CES and was referred to HAA training level I & II. HAA training was more entailed to home theater and more advanced educational training. Matthew Bell

Good day sir, The workshop was an eye opener for someone like me who has always identified himself as a Music admirer and had fiddled around till now in the direction inane. The workshop has brought in a direction & now compels to question the thoughts, equips us to plan, implement, gauge, debug and implement again to attain perfection. A mere suggestion being that, alongwith the notes - a ready reckoner enlisting critical basic processes elucidating their primary purpose & use, while being a part of main notes, shall be a boon to many. And you have been a great teacher with course directed to initiate it with strong basics and to take it there on depending on every individuals vision & need. Thanks to have interjected whenever we went dumbfounded or lost the pace. Thanks much once again. Shall see you at the next session. Sid Aryan Sound by Design, India.

Hey It was a wonderful experience gained lot knowledge on practical examples and real time challenges at the field and also some good training on acoustics usages and system usages. Finally I can say that any budget home theatre can make it as a good sounding. Sesha Reddy

I've attended ISF2, THX2 and I would consider HAA1&2 being the most exciting and fun learning experience I've ever had in Shanghai. If there is a more advance level of HAA, I will effeminately sign up for it! Chung Wei Tan

I had high expectations heading into the HAA Level II course and these expectations were exceeded. The course showed me that so many long held beliefs that I'd picked up as a keen audio enthusiast were simply misguided. Our team proved that great sound is achievable in a less than ideal room and with what was relatively modest equipment, simply by implementing what was taught to us by Gerry. I'm glad I made the investment in this training. Phil Grant

As an experienced AV professional, I have done many courses on room acoustics, including THX and have always managed to get what I thought was a good result for my clients, even in difficult room, so when HAA was brought to Australia I wanted to improve on my knowledge so I did the Turbo Cal, Level 1 and Level 2 coarse in Melbourne 2011 and let me just say we not only bent all of my long time golden rules, we broke them and made new ones! The room we worked on as a team, with Gerry's guidance was 6.3m square with a 2.45m high suspended ceiling, that rattled like hell, after two days of intense measuring and calibration the 5.2 THX certified MK speaker system, imaged like a high end two channel system and totally enveloped you in sound, the HAA training was fantastic, thanks Gerry for bringing it to Australia. At the end of the THX Home Theatre Level II course I attended in 2010, renowned THX instructor John Dahl said to the class (and I'm paraphrasing slightly) "if you'd like to explore the topics we've covered in greater detail with more comprehensive practical exercises, I'd strongly suggest Gerry Lemay's HAA Level II course". I took his advice - doing so was made much easier by Gerry kindly taking the time to head Down Under in 2011 - and I'd strongly suggest that anyone who's serious about home theatre, either as a profession or DIY, should do the same. There's a lot of "white noise" out there on internet forums and websites about acoustics and home theatre (much of it clearly wrong), and the HAA courses, particularly the two-day Level II practical course, will clear it up for you. As an example, we had a square room - and I mean *seriously* square - in a disused office building (suspended ceiling, commercial grade carpet over timber floor, thin drywall etc) in which to set up our system, and by the end of two days, it was the best demonstration room I've ever heard - period. No trickery, just plenty of science and guidance by a consummate professional. Michael McIntosh

After reading Gerry's last email/ letter (June 29, 2010), I thought maybe something that has helped us make it through these tough times, might benefit others out there. Here goes... Once building permits went almost away, we needed leads & ones that could keep us alive. Having been in business for the past 16+ years, we knew a lot of possibilities, but focused on two of them. The 1st was our existing clients. We started a monthly newsletter & send it via 'Mail Chimp'. This really works! We now have a little over 1000 clients who receive it & after each mailing, we see a decent return. Another area we went into was social media. We hired a company to build/ start a 'FaceBook' Fan club/ page. This also is doing fairly well. Not great, but worth the time & effort for sure. I feel the little things add up & after a few months, you will see a return. Next area we went into was gaming. We now sell games like, Billiards tables, ping pong, air hockey, shuffleboard, skeeball, poker tables, etc... We have these on display in our store, but you don't need to to sell them. Most (over 80%) hired us via our website pictures. They see we sell them & hire us. By being a complete - Home Entertainment company is a great way to increase your traffic/ incoming business. One last thing... Packages, Packages, Packages!!! Since we started selling Packages, our closing rate has gone up by over 15%. Think about it... by simplifing the buying process... the decision is a much easier. Easy helps you close deals. Hope this helps!!! Dan Moore

I thought the course was very good. I have taught alot of classes and I thought you did a good job of keeping the "war stories" to a good level. (My color calibration class was not so with the stories!) Also, I was able to retain the info you presented. You didn't get too "over our heads" with your education. I can see you are very good at what you do. Thanks, Chuck Chuck Pelletier

A great combination of art and science. Gerry understands and maximizes the "ins" and minimizes the "outs" of working in small groups so everyone is engaged. Will inspire you for more. Chris Amos

Gerry's class is better organized than most college labs I've been in. The material covered in the course is very applicable to what I do everyday and the hands-on experience is spectacular. HAA training is a must for any real audio professional! Alex Bloemer

Great course that is informative, well thought out and very enjoyable. It was worth every penny and I'm looking forward to putting what I've learnt to practical use. Stephen Withers

Before the course I was questioning the cost now after attending Level 1 & 2, every penny now has more value than I could of imagined, I am looking forward to flying the HAA flag. Phil Cottle

I can't wait to take a level II course and get some hands on training. The level 1 course opened my eyes to how much can be achieved by basic design. Dan Holland

The knowledge we gained from the Level I session was very valuable. It established an excellent building block and has us motivated to grow and tune our acoustic skills. Perry Palacio
