Having worked in the industry for many years across the UK, Europe and South and Southern Africa, Christiaan has built up unique experience in the industry, and particularly his local markets.
Having built his company, Sphere Custom, up from a small one man-install business, into a multi faceted design and distribution company who specialise in High-End Home Theatres, and make it their work to translate the complexity of our expansive industry into the simple for every client and dealer they work with.
As an experience driven and focused industry - Christiaan’s background and knowledge - technical, but not overly so, and widely encompassing, rather than specifically focussed - serves Sphere well on a global level; Sphere are currently amidst expansion plans to both London and Lagos.
Christiaan is in regularly contact with his dealers locally, and manufacturers in the marketplace, and his aim is to making sure the end user finds the right fit for their purpose. No gimmickry and gobbledygook, just plain simple technology in a way which regular Joe understands, and can functionally use without fuss.
He is particularly passionate about helping grow our industry and regularly hosts education sessions for Architects, developers, builders and quantity surveyors. These cover a variety of topics which are commonly misinterpreted or misunderstood; debunking the popular myths abound in Home Automation, and facilitating discussion around future
trends and how we can better adapt to serve, and grow our markets.
As a regular traveller he attends many trade shows and events in order to further his knowledge and interact with suppliers. He loves technology, sound, gadgets, and can often be found nose-buried deep in a good dystopian-futurist novel.
