Using Ask HAA on the website

We’re still in beta on this, but we think ready access to HAA Doctrine and advice is immediately useful for Pro Integrators. As an HAA Certified Member you have exclusive use of our knowledge and support. Ask HAA is not available to enthusiasts and a paid HAA membership give you full access.

Log in at homeacoustics.org as an HAA member, click the Ask HAA button to open the chat, and type your question. Same brain as WhatsApp — answers in HAA’s own voice, with source links. Using the Commands above you can connect to any project for context based advice or to recall details without sifting through papers or computer files.

Getting Ask HAA started on WhatsApp

You don’t need to log into the HAA Portal to use Ask HAA. The WhatsApp interface also adds more capability that you can access without logging into the HAA Portal. Once you’ve logged in on our Ask HAA channel on WhatsApp, you stayed logged in and can ask a question anywhere via your phone.

If you don’t have WhatsApp yet

  1. Install WhatsApp — free from the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
  2. Open it and register with your mobile number (you’ll get a verification code by text). Add your name. (Optional: use it on a computer at web.whatsapp.com once it’s on your phone.)

Connect to Ask HAA

  1. On your phone, tap wa.me/16602422241?text=START — or save +1 (660) 242‑2241 as a contact and message it. This opens a chat with Ask HAA, pre‑filled with “START”.
  2. Send START. Ask HAA replies with a welcome.
  3. Reply with your HAA member email (the address on your membership). This links your phone to your membership — one time, opt‑in only.
  4. When you see “✅ Linked!”, just type a question. Examples:
    • “Where’s the best place for a single sub?”
    • “SPL at my seat for an 88 dB speaker, 100 W, at 4 m?”

  • Members only — your email must be an active HAA membership that includes Ask HAA.
  • Type HELP anytime for the full menu · PRIVACY for how your data is handled · STOP to unlink.

Beta & pricing 

Ask HAA is in Beta — verify critical specs before purchase or build. It’s currently included with your HAA membership while we refine it. Currently, a paid HAA membership entitles you to 25 Ask HAA questions per month. A plus-up of 10 questions costs $5.

HAA Projects are still in development, but much of the functionality is already in place. The key value is that you can use WhatsApp as a way to load collected project information to your HAA Project, Use of HAA Projects is currently free, but it will be assigned a cost as we switch from beta to production mode.

HAA Projects (in development)

The HAA Projects capability is derived form our longstanding development of the HAA Design Portal. The Design Portal is an in-depth cinema design suite based on years of real-world design work conducted by members of the HAA. It’s still in the works, but you can being to use the best elements of it in HAA Projects.

Upload a variety of project information in a simple way;

  • Enter the info directly into the Project Data page or edit it.
  • Use WhatsApp to upload pictures, documents, transcriptions of client interviews.
  • You can verbally create a series of WhatsApp texts during a walk-thru, simply talk thru the details; dimensions, door placements, client preferences, and add pictures for your record.
  • The AI powered Ask HAA grabs the information and places it where it belongs in the Project page.
  • Forgot a detail, just use Ask HAA on your phone and text the detail into your project at any time.
  • Invite team members like seating companies, acoustical consultants, contractors, etc. to chat within the project or simply to upload their document contribution. These participants don’t have to be HAA Members and you can filter what they see on the project page.

All the data is stored for your ready use. Need a dimension Ask HAA. Need the address Ask HAA. All details of the project are accessible via WhatsApp or the HAA Portal’s Ask HAA agent. Just sign into the Project.

In addition, the Ask HAA agent, Jim, is aware of the project and can provide context based advice, calculations, and, in the end a report for your own records or as part of a proposal, project record, or an award submission.

All data is encrypted and stored as long as you are a current member. If desired your project data can be deleted in its entirety.

The Future

With your help, suggestions and bug identification, the HAA Projects tools can be an outstanding way to professionally design a theater and provide useful drawings for your records and for your proposals.
