Hi Scott,

I'm glad I helped! Just be sure to use the "mid" pink noise test tone to measure the SPL. That is the 500 Hz to 2000 Hz test tone use for balancing speaker levels. Good luck!

Peak SPL Measurement

Hi all,

I am curious if there is refined process to measure the peak spl that a system and speaker is capable of achieving?

My question mainly relates to the fact that we calculate this in the system design process using any number of SPL calculators using sensitivity, distance and amp power, but other than a test by ear using known test tracks is there an accurate way of measuring peak transient effects when trying to meet the 105dB reference level?

Scott.
