- Click the arrow on the checklist item to open the SPL Calculation tool and see the results.
- Make sure you've updated the specifications and correct position for each speaker by tapping each speaker icon.
- You should also enter the power output (RMS) in watts for each associated amp channel.
- If you need to go back to correct any of these settings, the next time you open this item it will reflect the changes.
- Subwoofers are not considered in this test as the final SPL is very complicated to calculate.
- A Reference System should be capable of generating 105 dB at the MLP.
- You'll notice that a higher speaker sensitivity has a dramatic impact on the final SPL.
- Be aware that the calculation is only valid directly on-axis to the speaker. A speaker which is not pointed at the MLP will have less capability in reality.
- The calculated SPL level at each row does not include room gain, which is typically around 3 dB added
- The calculated SPL levels are for point source speakers, line source speakers will perform better.
