Reverberation Time Measurement

  • Our aim is to determine the Reverberation Time (RT) of the room before and after treatment.
  • We use a single microphone placed at the MLP (main listening position).
  • The HAA app will automatically set the weighting to "A" using External Trigger. If you use the main AudioTools ETC app, you'll need to manually set this.
  • Press the play button to initiate an impulse test tone from the center front speaker played by the Apple TV.
  • Once the plot is created the test automatically completes; press the "+" control to store it and add a descriptive name if desired. You can use the edit control to change it later.
  • Use two fingers to "pinch" the screen; align the resulting line between your fingers to match the general slope of the plot.
  • The RT(RT60) will be calculated and displayed.
  • Touch the "Screen Shot" icon on the top right below the "Report" link to save the plot image. To hide the screen shot image, under the "Report Image" touch the listed image name.
  • There are two instances of RT measurement, the initial and final. Once both are taken they will be overlaid on a plot shown in the final report.
  • Touch the "back" arrow on the top left to return to the checklist.
  • Once back to the checklist touch the checkmark on the bottom right to set the item as complete and add any comments.
