LCR /Sub(s) EQ

  • Select the checklist item, then touch the checkmark and mark the test as "In Progress". This test is optional and thus skipped unless you do this.
  • Click the arrow on the checklist item to open the FFT test.
  • The reason it is optional is that you must have parametric EQ available for your LCR channels in order to complete it.
  • While EQing the sub(s) is a huge step toward smooth response. The LCRs play low frequency sound as well and it's a dramatic benefit to smooth their response as well.
  • Since we are dealing with low frequencies we need to EQ the lower range of their response simultaneously with the sub(s). This range is generally below 150 Hz.
  • We have 3 channels playing simultaneously so any filter you implement for one channel must be duplicated in the other 2 channels.
  • You can use the same process we discussed for equalizing the sub(s) but we'll extend our interest to include the sub frequencies below 80 Hz and EQ up to 150 Hz.
  • Equalizing the LCRs or any of the other speakers above 150 Hz is performed with each channel individually.
  • Once you're happy with the plot, touch the return arrow to return to the checklist. Don't forget to mark this item complete.
