immersive audio calibration tools? (6 replies)
Hi Kristen,
Dolby produces a demo disc which contains the required test tones for the added speakers. There is currently no tool that can generate and deliver these tools. The best route for such a capability in AudioTools is through the further development of the integration with the Apple TV. It was recently announced that a new update for the Apple TV with have Atmos capability.
As far as the Dolby disc is concerned, my usual source for these disks is depleted. I'll see if I can't get Dolby to provide more. You might be able to buy one on eBay or the like in the meantime.
Thank you Gerry, are you referring to the Dolby Atmos Blu-Ray Demo Disc (Sep 2016)?

Similarly, there are demo discs for Auro-3D and DTS:X:

Yes, that's it. Thanks for supplying the link!
Dolby did have downloadable test tones for Atmos on the website. I been searching the site but Coming up empty. If they pop up again, I'll link them.

Yes, same here... not sure what's up. I did hear there were some errors in a recent disc. so....?
Thanks!
I've been promised from Dolby that HAA will be given a supply of the Dolby demo/test discs. Stay tuned for an update on availability. We'll probably put a link on our Pro Products page to order one. I'm not sure about the cost but at most we'll charge shipping to get the disc to you.
Today, it seems like the iAudioInterface2 is limited to outputting multichannel audio to Dolby 5.1 or DTS 6.1 via TOSlink. Is there a workaround to allow calibration of height speakers using that interface, or using a different tool that perhaps supports immersive sound formats such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D natively via HDMI? Recabling (remapping bed speakers to heights) between the pre-pro and the amp would do the trick, but at that point you're not calibrating the whole path. Any suggestions?
