HAA Portal frequently asked questions.
How do I update my Profile?
Once you are registered as a member, you should see the “My Profile” link on the right sidebar. Click it and scan the page for the “Edit Profile” button. It will only be visible to you. From there you can make any desired change. Keep in mind only HAA Pro members will be shown on the “Dealer Locator:.
How do I add my Avatar?
You can access the change Avatar feature by editing your Profile as discussed above.
I am an Enthusiast member but I don’t want my location shown on the Dealer Locator or in my Profile
Only Certified Pro members are shown in the Dealer Locator; Enthusiasts are not included. If you want to hide your address in your Profile, simply remove the address completely and there will be no public reference to your location. You must add your location to your Profile in the first place for it to be seen. It is blank by default. The address and any information shown in the My Account page is not public and is there to maintain your HAA account and is only populated when you make a purchase.
Can I create my own Discussion Group?
Yes, you can create your own discussion group. Go to the Discussion Groups link and select “Create Discussion Group”. Keep in mind that your group will be public and any member can join it. If you wish to create a private group where members who request to join are screened by you, you can easily do this as well by editing the group. All discussion groups are subject to the HAA Portal Terms of Service Agreement and are subject to cancellation without notice by the HAA Portal Administrator.
I am an AV Pro but I work with a manufacturer (or design firm, Rep firm, etc.) can I join as a Pro member?
Yes, you can join. The best way to become a Pro member is to get certified by the HAA. There are class sessions held around the year in various locations. If you are not certified, you can still join as a Pro, but as an Associate Member. Request access by first, joining as an HAA Pro Candidate (click or use the “Join” link on the top menu) and follow up by requesting to join as an Associate Pro member at admin@homeacoustics.net; this is a paid membership. We’ll need references and a brief description of your background including the number of years you’ve been a Pro.
I used to have an HAA Membership on the old website, can I rejoin the HAA?
If you already have HAA Certifications or a previous associate membership, you probably already have a log in. Try using your email address as the username (keep in mind that it is the email address you used when you originally took the HAA training or joined the HAA). The password will be the same password you used in the old HAA website. If all that fails contact us and we’ll get you a login.
